VITAMIN D - Bones, Immune System

Vitamin D Deficiency in the U.K.

Living in the U.K., many of us likely do not get enough vitamin D. This essential vitamin supports strong bones and a healthy immune system. Low vitamin D levels are common across the population, especially among ethnic minorities and vegans. Women are particularly prone to deficiency, so supplements are strongly advised for these groups.

The UK Government recommends taking vitamin D supplements during the winter months (October to March), when sunlight exposure is minimal. Oral vitamin tablets have an absorption rate of about 5%, which is significantly lower compared to vitamin shots and drips that offer 100% absorption.

Benefits of Vitamin D Shots

• Support bone and teeth health
• Improve muscle function
• Enhance calcium absorption
• Boost the immune system
• Help regulate calcium metabolism
• Maintain nervous system, heart function, and normal blood clotting

The vitamin D shot is injected into the deltoid muscle at the top of the arm, similar to a standard jab.
