Difference Between Traditional Tint and Brow Henna
Traditional tint and Brow Henna both contain pigments and chemicals like PPD, which help the color adhere to the skin and hairs. However, Brow Henna is primarily plant-based, offering a gentler option for those with sensitive skin who find traditional brow tints too harsh. Despite this, Brow Henna still includes PPD—albeit in much smaller amounts—since it is necessary for the color to last.
Brow Henna is especially beneficial for clients with sparse brows or those who over-plucked in the past. It can stain the skin for up to 5 to 6 weeks, depending on skin type and aftercare, while traditional tint is not designed to last on the skin.
Another key difference is that Brow Henna is exclusively for eyebrows; it’s formulated specifically for brow hairs and the surrounding skin. Unlike traditional tint, Brow Henna cannot be applied to eyelashes.
