Deep Tissue Massage Overview

Deep tissue massage involves firm pressure and focused work on muscle knots or trigger points.

• During the initial consultation, the therapist performs a postural assessment and asks which areas need special care.
• Once you're prepared, the therapist starts with gentle compressions to warm up the muscles.
• Next, a mix of techniques—such as gliding strokes, kneading, friction, and vibration—is used. Pressure is monitored to ensure it remains firm. When trigger points are found, direct pressure is applied to release them.
• After the session, the therapist offers a self-care plan and may suggest follow-up treatments if needed.

If you have muscle tension or specific trigger points, deep tissue massage can relieve chronic pain, improve flexibility, and reduce tightness.
