It is a modern treatment designed to ease muscular pain. During dry needling, a practitioner inserts several filiform needles into your skin. Filiform needles are fine, short, stainless steel needles that do not inject fluid into the body. That is why the term “dry” is used. It is almost always used as part of a larger pain management plan that could include exercise, stretching, massage and other techniques.
