How to Remove Gel Polish at Home

Removing gel polish safely is essential to maintain healthy nails. Here's a straightforward method that prevents damage:

File the top layer of gel to break the seal
Soak cotton pads in acetone
Place soaked pads on nails and wrap with aluminum foil
Wait 10-15 minutes for the gel to soften
Gently remove loosened polish with a wooden cuticle stick
Apply cuticle oil to rehydrate nails

For stubborn gel, repeat the process rather than forcing removal. Avoid peeling off gel polish as this damages the nail bed and weakens nails over time.
