Following the manual removal, we use an electronic ear irrigator to gently apply a low-pressure flow of body-temperature water to the upper ear canal wall, which helps rinse any residual wax and impurities. *Previous surgery to the ear, recurring ear canal infections or a recent perforation of the ear drum may make irrigation inappropriate. **Using olive oil drops a few days prior to your wax removal appointment will help soften the wax and make it easier to remove.
