Cupping Therapy Overview
Cupping is a traditional healing method from China that uses suction to aid recovery. Cups are placed on the skin to create a vacuum, which is believed to support healing by enhancing blood flow.
This increased circulation may ease muscle tension, boost cell regeneration, and support the growth of new connective tissue and blood vessels in the targeted area.
As the vacuum forms, the skin and underlying muscle are gently pulled into the cup. This pressure change often causes the skin to redden as blood vessels react to the suction.
Cupping has been applied to help with various health concerns, especially those involving muscle pain. It may also be beneficial for:
